Meet The Manager
  1. Why are you in the care sector?

I began my career in the care sector at the age of 18 as a care assistant on nights. I was looking for a job that was fulfilling and meaningful and wanted to make a difference to people lives

2-  What do you enjoy about the care sector?

Caring for people who were once strong and showing them that life does not have to stop once we begin to feel the ailments of age. This is my strongest passion. To deliver care to those who require that element of care that not everyone can do. To genuinely care about people and treat them like family and to strive to bring joy and fulfilment to their life is why I am in care.

3-  What experience do you have to work in the care sector?

I started in care when I was 18. I have worked in various homes. My experience is with providing residential and dementia care. I started working in care as care assistant on nights, I then went on to become a senior on days as I wanted to progress and work my way up as this was the career I enjoyed. I went on to become a deputy manager at bigger home where my manager at the time trained me up and then went on to be the care home manager at this home which I enjoyed. I only become the person I am today from working with different people and learning all different types and ways

4- What are your qualifications?

I have completed numerous in-house training at the different homes I have worked at

I have completed my NVQ’s level 2 3 and NVQ level 5 in management

5- What are your hobbies?

I love spending time with my family and my young son, I love to socialise and love to shop

6- What motivates you to succeed in the care sector?

I want to make a difference and help people enjoy how they live. I wish to encourage our residents to enjoy their lives as much as possible, despite any ailments old age may have brought. I want my residents to be happy and to enjoy even more memories with whatever makes them smile and to feel as independent as possible.

7- Tell me a little about your care team

We have a very well-established care team and we all work well together. My care staff have all got experience in working in care and all have the relevant qualifications. My care staff are all well trained and enjoy their jobs and every single person always goes that extra mile to make sure all our residents are happy and well cared for.

8- Why is it important to have stimulating activities in your home? Because people are here to live life not just to stay alive, we focus on what people can do, not what they can’t. We love to see people excited and enjoying any stimulating activity, which opens up new experiences and new challenges, even if it is just sitting, and enjoying watching others do things.

  1. Why should your home look after someone else’s loved one?

We are a trusted and regulated care home with very strong professional relationships. Our care team want you to become a part of our extended family. We are here to support your loved ones and ensure they are happy and safe. We not only support the residents into the home and throughout their stay with us, we also support the families too.

10- Would you place your loved one in your home?

Yes. I would do, I completely and truly trust the ethos of the home and our staff provide excellent care.
